March 8 Live Charity Event: Bra Making for a Cause

I’ve teamed up with Sarah from Hugs for Your Jugs for an all-day bra making live stream on March 8 — all to fundraise for charities that support Afghan women and girls.

Once the live stream kicks off — at 8am PT / 11am ET / 4pm GMT — tune in on YouTube or Facebook!

The event will be jam-packed with lingerie-related fun, like bra making tips, lingerie trivia, party games, and more fun. Join us, then donate on Just Giving. All funds will go to four organizations that are doing great work for women and girls in Afghanistan: Rukhshana Media, Begum Academy, Zan Times, and Rawadari. (More on them below.)

The Schedule

Join our Charity Event on March 8 for the "Bra Making for a Cause" live stream, supporting Afghan women and girls. Tune in for interviews, trivia, sewing tutorials, and catch hosts Ruhee, Maddie, Lily, and Madalynne in action.

The Guests

Several guests will join Sarah and me throughout the day:

The Cause + Charities

Our four chosen charities are each doing important work to support the rights of women and girls in Afghanistan.

Rukhshana Media is a publication that gives voice, dignity and support to the amazing women of Afghanistan, who, despite living under the Taliban, are determined not to be silenced by the most oppressive regime to women in the world. Rukhshana’s reports are under pseudonyms to protect the journalists’ identities.

Begum Academy is the first educational platform in Afghanistan that combines all the subjects of Grades 7 to 12 in a standard audiovisual format where students can learn, interact, and evaluate their skill levels. It’s an alternative quality educational resource for those who are no longer allowed to attend secondary school, such as girls.

Zan Times is a women-led, investigative newsroom that covers human rights violations in Afghanistan with a focus on women and the LGBTQI+ community. They are a group of mainly women journalists working both inside and outside Afghanistan to tell their own stories, raising their voice to shape and inform public discourse.

Rawadari is an Afghan human rights organisation that aims to deepen and grow the human rights culture of Afghanistan, ultimately reducing the suffering of all Afghans, especially women and girls.
